Stephen S. Meharg, Ph.D., ABN
After a final year of training in behavioral medicine and neuropsychology at the Portland VA Medical Center, Dr. Meharg entered private practice in the Longview area. In addition to a general practice in child and adult psychotherapy, he holds specialty practices in clinical and forensic neuropsychology, ADHD, child behavior disorders, parent training, and behavior therapy of anxiety disorders. He consults extensively with area medical providers. Dr. Meharg has also served as adjunct faculty at George Fox College and Lower Columbia College, and is a consulting psychologist in the department of Internal Medicine at St John Medical Center. He serves as the trainer and supervisor of the Lay Counseling Clinic of Longview Community Church. He is board certified with the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology. Dr. Meharg holds membership in the American Psychological Association, American Academy of Neurology, Washington State Psychological Association, International Neuropsychological Society, National Academy of Neuropsychology, Pacific Northwest Neuropsychological Society, American College of Professional Neuropsychology, and the North American Brain Injury Society. Dr. Meharg is married and has three children. His hobbies include fishing, boating, camping, computers, and photography. He is also an accomplished musician, serving as principal viola of several local community and professional orchestras and string quartets.
